We're Barbequeing and going to the Angels Game. The dogs are hanging out by the BBQ and ice cream machine. Gee, I wonder why? :) Maybe because they get a hot dog now and then. . .

What a change from the rowdy, mischievous, bread stealing, shoe chewing pup I had in my house just a few short months ago.
Look at Ninja now, on Halloween Night. We go a little crazy with decorations on Halloween. We have the two fog machines (yes, two), the graveyard in the front yard, a ghost that shrieks when you walk up, and on and on.
The last couple of years I've had to keep Ninja on leash for the festivities, because, let's face it, all the action and hundreds of costumed kids shrieking and running around was just too much for a puppy.
Ninja was never aggressive, but he wanted to greet everyone and see what they had and check out why the house is all crazy with fog and ghouls.
But I think this photo says it all. He's curious and watching, but won't go an inch nearer to that door unless I release him from the stay command. Now that's success!
Happy Halloween!
Tomorrow is one year since Ninja came to live with us. We had our first weekend together over Labor Day last year. As I recall he ate all the cat's food and spent the whole weekend sick as, well, a dog.
what happens when I want to work on my dollhouse. At least he shows an interest, which is more than I can say for a lot of people I know! : ) But he's a healthy, happy pp so I can't complain.

My little puppy is one year old today. He got to spend the whole afternoon at our neighborhood block party where he was a good boy and the star of the show. The kids played on a racing Slip N Slide - 3 lanes! Ninja raced right along side them in the grass. He does not like to get splashed. He'll run through wet grass and play in a puddle, but spray him with water or get him near the sprinklers and he is one unhappy pup.
We were outside for over 5 hours and it was hot! When we came back inside he flopped down on his side, laid all four legs out, and went sound asleep. But I think he was smiling as he slept.
He and my husband seem to have made up, so all is well in our home tonight. Happy Birthday, my beautiful fur baby!
